Opening the house to light
The brief
Rethinking the house around light, without betraying its soul.
In Meudon, this house was rethought around light. A fluted-wood living wall, integrating fireplace, bookshelves and desk, structures the living space and brings the functions together in one fluid line. A steel glazed partition gives rhythm to the large open volume without obstructing the flow of light. A pale floor unifies the spaces and lets the material speak. Right down to the shower room, clad in teal fluting, each room takes on a strong identity without breaking the harmony of the whole.
The studio's response

The living-room wall, the volume's defining line
A fluted-wood wall runs along the living room, integrating fireplace, bookshelves and desk. It structures the living space and brings these functions together in a single fluid line, where each use finds its place without breaking the unity of the whole.

The glazed partition, structure of the large volume
At the heart of the house, the steel glazed partition organises the large open volume. More than a threshold between rooms, it informs the volume and paces its reading, without ever obstructing the flow of natural light from one space to the next.

A strong identity, room by room
The shower room, clad in teal fluting, shows how far the coherence of the project goes: each room has a character of its own, without ever breaking the harmony of the whole.

We are delighted with the result. Thank you for your professionalism and your creativity. We were able to move forward in complete confidence with you over these few months, and that mattered to us.
